I’ve been working on Legend of the Ztarr lately. I have storyboards for the first chapter completed as well as the page layouts. Now, I’m at the pencil/inking stage, which I’m doing digitally in Illustrator with my Cintiq. It turned out the storyboards were good enough to use as sketches to make inks out of–that is to say…I’ve become accustomed to using the Cintiq well enough to not need scanned pencil art so much anymore.
I was hoping to get a preview book done by the end of the month to bring along on my trip to Tulsa. I’ve been invited as a guest to “Tokyo in Tulsa” and wanted to have copies for that event. But I only have a little less than half of the pages inked, and then I would need to tone and typeset them. Instead, I decided to draw up some coloured LotZ artwork to make some small 4×6 prints to bring along with me instead. This idea came to mind when I realized I’m running low of Secrets of Sorcerers promo postcards. The prints should arrive within the next day or two, so hopefully they will turn out nice. The characters shown are Adora Ztarr, Darmian Red, and Jhed Slayer.
In the meantime, I quickly turned the promo card artwork into desktop wallpapers, as seen above. There are several resolutions:
